First day of Jr High

Well here she is off to her first day of 7th grade. She is nervous and scared but I know she will be just fine. As I told her we have all survived so will she. She felt better knowing that Mom and John were nervous there first days also.

Busy Busy

It has been a busy week. Scott started school, the first day his computer the school provided wouldn't boot. So on to my computer he got. School started great he was working ahead and not getting frustrated. Then he gets emails from his teachers not to work ahead. How in the h*** is he supposed do an hour a day in each class when he finishes the daily work in fifteen minutes. John is going to have a talk with the school because this is not going to work otherwise.

Faith is ready and nervous for school to start tomorrow. She has made a new friend with the girl next door that moved in just a few weeks after we did.

We went camping for the first time as a family this weekend. We camped on a cliff above the Snake River, it was wonderful.

I have more to say but it just slipped my mind, because my favorite movie of all time just came on the TV: Armageddon.

Ice Skating

All though Faith will not be able to take private lessons for a while, she still will be Ice Skating. I had already cut out the pieces for the dress before we moved. She grew a little bit though, lol I had to add some length to the panties underneath in order to cover her long torso. I swear she grew two inches over the summer. She picked the material and John and I picked the pattern. We wanted something more modest then what most skating outfits are. Unfortunately the skirt is not as long as I hoped it would be due to previous statement about growing.

School starts soon

Faith is excited because school starts for Scott on Wed but hers doesn't start until the following Monday. We took her and got her registered for school yesterday. Up here Reading is a required class for 7th graders and John and I both groaned about that because the girl reads better then most high schoolers. The good news is that they have different levels of reading classes and she will be in the highest level. She will also be taking beginning band. Her uncle gave her a clarinet over the summer and there really wasn't any other choices for an elective. It was band/orchestra, choir, or Intro to whatever. We did tour the school made sure she new were her classes were and her locker is. Except for two classes the rest are all in the same hallway as her locker. She can even open the locker...if she uses both hands.

Scott's classes are up online and ready for him to go, I need to talk to his teacher about what times they have office hours but so far everything looks pretty good.

Back to School

School starts for the kids on Aug 29th. That means back to school shopping. I can't believe how big Faith has gotten, she is into a size 6 shoes in women's. :(

However:

We got her a book bag for school and she was filling it up with the 30 pounds of crap that the school said that she needed and then she put it on....it is like twice the size of her torso.

Home

This weekend our nephew got married. That meant a long road trip to Utah, made longer by an accident at Malad Pass that closed down both sides of the freeway. This forced us across the state to go into Utah through Preston into Logan. We ended up with an extra two hours on our drive. It sucked.

We absolutely enjoyed the weekend with the family. Friday night Faith spent at a friends house and the rest of us stayed up until 3 or 4 in the morning laughing and talking and having fun. Some of the nieces and nephews got to see me really loopy. As I told them, I didn't need to be drunk just sleep deprived. I ended up sleeping in the car because I couldn't get comfortable anywhere else. :)

Saturday was crazy: Brunch, Family Pictures, Temple, Dinner, Reception. That was just the planned stuff, had to find time for lunch and changing and dealing with the chaos. I did end up having to take my chill pills so one of the nieces drove me and Faith and the great-nephew and her little sister to the temple. lol Then her brother drove us back, the funny thing was that he was so scared of crashing Uncle John's car that he was doing both hands 10 and 2 the whole way and not talking.

We spent the night at John's brothers house and it was nice to sleep in a bed, I laid down on the bed and was out. Had a great breakfast and then hit John's parents house to say goodbye. John and I have different ideas about good-byes. I hate them so I prefer a hurry goodbye and get on my way. He prefers to talk to each person for an hour or more before we leave. There were move than 10 people at that house, I had to assert my goodbyes or we would still be there.

Had a snag on the way home with traffic again but luckily it didn't set us back more then ten minutes. Now that we are here was can convince everyone that we really do have a daughter and she isn't just a figment of our imaginations. :)

Family

Matt's sister A stopped by on their way to Utah for the wedding this weekend. She brought her kids and all though we only got see them for the one day it was so wonderful, to talk to and laugh and listen to stories. We will see them again this weekend as will as with the rest family, I love family and get togethers. I miss not being able to just stop my mother-in-laws and just chatting or having some of the neices and nephews stopping by.

On the other hand that gives me more excuses for vacatoins :)

Workout

For Christmas last year we bought the family a pass to the Rec center in Bountiful. I worked out three times a week for 30 minutes. I was feeling better about myself and even thought I was starting to lose a little weight. Since the finding out about the move I stopped working out to take care of everything. On my birthday I decided to workout at home so that I can feel better again. I started out on the WII Fit and get quite a bit of a work out but I would like to lose a little bit off my tummy. So I dug out the Jillian Michael's Front Side workout CD I bought years ago and never opened. OH MY GOODNESS! I didn't make it through the whole workout. I can see why she is the winning trainer. The CD had 6 intervals, I made it through two barely. Tomorrow I am going to try and make it through at least three.

Winco

Went to Winco for the first time today. It is Food4Less by another name. Which is great because I saved probably 50$ by shopping there today but it is the first of the month and the only Winco around. Translation: Food Stamps were given out yesterday and there was a store packed with people shopping and there brats children running around like heathens. I will shop there again but next time I will have to take Matt, then I have someone to take my frustration's out on.
