Short and Sweet

It's cold in Idaho. No snow yet but its still cold.
John's brother came to visit us and go duck hunting with his two youngest and we had a ball.
Faith is starting IDVA (http://www.k12.com/ if you want more info) on Nov 21st. She got mad at me for signing her up for German instead of Spanish.
Scott is learning that not doing practice problems in math leaves you far behind on your tests.
I am making what I call the ugliest quilt, using leftover fabric pieces. I don't really care what it looks like because it's going to be a camping blanket and just needs to be warm.
My niece and nephew who were here, have convinced me I need to take the next step in my knitting and attempt a sweater. Waiting for the yarn to come in the mail.

Love you all

School Attendance Policy

Faith came home from school yesterday with a splitting migraine that hurt so bad her stomach refused to hold down breakfast. The cause of this migraine, the new lights the school installed that are ultra bright. Her missing school prompted me to look up the school policy on attendance. It seems that if a child misses more then 5 days of school a trimester then they lose credit for that entire trimester. This is a major issue for a 12 year old who is getting straight As. Obviously I don't agree with this policy, after all if my daughter misses four days of school so far and still has straight A's don't you think maybe she can handle the missed work. To top it off Faith's cousin K is coming up tonight with her dad to go hunting and Faith was supposed to take tomorrow off to spend the day with her. Not now, in fact this morning she told me that nothing is going to stop her from going to school even puking. Needless to say if she gets another migraine today there is going to be one very upset mama bear in that school office. John doesn't agree with he policy either and says he will just stand back and watch me verbally tear the principal apart.

Halloween

This was a very LAME Halloween for the kids. Faith wanted to go trick or treating with her new friends, John said only if he goes and chaperone's. Faith chose to hand out candy instead. Scott wanted to go trick or treating with his new friends, I was going to let him after all he is 14. John said only if he chaperone's. Then proceeded to explain what 14 and 15 year old boys do on Halloween night. Scott's friends said no way can you bring your dad. Scott stayed home. I bought 5 pounds of candy. After all we live in a cul-de-sac now and there are a lot of kids in our neighborhood. We say maybe 20 kids total, I have 4 pounds of candy left.

I however got to watch my KC Chiefs on Monday Night Football. There were playing the San Diego Chargers and I have to say it was a fun game to watch. They beat the Chargers in OT but it was a fight and struggle all the way. By the time the game ended I was the only one still up, everybody else had gone to bed.

Our house is so much smaller then the last that I am debating on whether I should even put out my Thanksgiving decorations. If I do, it wont be all of them that's for sure.
